Carl Nielsen’s songs, such as ‘Solen er så rød, Mor’ (Look! The sun is red, mum) and ‘Jens Vejmand’ (John the Roadman), are today part of the national heritage and represent a common meeting ground for all Danes.
But alongside these beloved songs, Nielsen also wrote extremely complex and radical symphonic works.
